The Spring Classics are here, and we want you to have a slice of the action. On Saturday 22nd April, we’re hosting the Sigma Sports x Hotchillee Rutland Classic Rideout. Ride out with Hotchillee from the Sigma Sports store in Oakham, and tackle some of the most famous sections of the Rutland-Melton CiCLE Classic route.

Our ride takes place the day before the UCI men’s race comes to town! In true Spring Classics fashion, you too can test your mettle on parcours that could easily feel at home on the cobbled lanes of Flanders, or the white gravel roads of Tuscany.

If you’re a seasoned rider of the Rutland CiCLE Tour Sportive, you’ll no doubt have been disappointed by the cancellation of this year’s event. We’re offering the perfect alternative, and a great way to kickstart your social cycling season. And if you’ve never ridden in Rutland, you’re in for a treat with two stunning routes to choose from.

The ride

This is a group ride with a difference. With ten groups heading out on the day, the Hotchillee Ride Captains will help you find the right group for your ability, and our ‘no drop’ policy ensures you won’t ride alone.

The routes

Short Route

Experience some of the CiCLE Classic's most iconic roads and climbs on our 50km spin from the Sigma Sports Oakham store. Highlights on the route include the Barleyberg, Burrough Berg, Newbold Manor and Cuckooberg. 

 

Long Route

Taking on some of the CiCLE Classic's most iconic roads, join our 100km spin from the Sigma Sports Oakham store. Highlights on the route include the Barleyberg, Somerberg (gravel), Burrough Berg, Newbold Manor, Cuckooberg and Burley Hill.

With 19 years experience putting on bucket list cycling events like the LONDON-PARIS, Cape Rouleur and Alpine Challenge, you’ll be in excellent hands on this group ride. Expect a carefully planned route, a warm welcome and wheel to follow, and with over 300 Hotchillee events under their combined belts, the Hotchillee Ride Captains will manage each group to perfection. Whether you’re riding alone, or coming along with mates, Hotchillee will ensure you’re part of the gang from the off. This will be a no-drop ride with up to 10 riders per group, with abilities ranging from expert to those new to group riding.
