Renowned for producing frames with understated style and constructed using the highest quality materials, Colnago are a brand with a wealth of knowledge and experience. To celebrate their 64th year, they have released the C64 Art Decor Road Semi-Integrated Disc Frameset. Fully handmade in Italy, this frame uses the finest quality carbon tubing and has been finished with UD (unidirectional) carbon to reduce the overall weight.

Following on from its predecessor the C60, there have been a number of updates to enhance the ride quality, whilst shaving off around 270 grams overall.

The fork has been completely redesigned and has an external rib shape and the internal rib in the steerer tube increases both stiffness and strength. With the steerer tube holding the nut for the top cap, the need for an expander plug is eliminated. Additionally, the C/D steerer tube shape allows the brake housing to run from the stem for clean aesthetics. The 12mm thru-axle is also now a threaded system to reduce weight.

Although the same overall shape as the C60, the head tube has lighter, thinner walls and the subtle difference in shape improves the side stiffness. Technology from the Concept's headset has been utilised, while a polymer composition improves vibration damping for improved handling and comfort.

In the downtube, the lower portion has been narrowed to match the rear triangle and features a recessed area for the bottle cage, tucking it out of the wind and improving torsional stiffness. For those looking for a mechanical setup, the cable stops are located on the downtube, hidden behind the headtube.

To increase stiffness further, Colnago has made the seat tube and seat tube lug a single piece. Although not designed as an aero bike, the seat post is based on that of the V2-R and improves vertical compliance so you'll remain comfortable for longer. Securing the post is a hidden, integrated seat clamp, with a single removable part tightened from underneath. The result is a sleek, streamlined look and a 15 gram weight reduction.

Staying with the proven ThreadFit82.5 system, the lug now has the cable guide moulded into it, making a larger radius for smooth shifting performance. In the rear triangle, the dropouts are now part of the chainstays to lower the weight and add vertical compliance, while the lateral stiffness remains high. Threaded 12mm thru axles and co-moulded flat mount brake provisions feature, and the lightweight and stiff full carbon rear end with asymmetrical chainstays offer exceptional power transfer.

This disc specific offering is perfect for riders looking to take advantage of improved braking in both wet and dry conditions. This is a highly versatile frameset with extra clearance for 28mm tyres and the ability to run both mechanical and electronic groupsets.
