In the striking colours of UAE Team Emirates, Colnago's special edition C64 Road Frameset with sloping geometry has been released to celebrate the company's 64th year.

A redesigned fork to enhance both ride quality and stiffness, a new unidirectional (UD) carbon finish to reduce weight, and clearance for tyres up to 28mm wide are among a number of upgrades since its C60 predecessor. The ability to run both mechanical and electronic groupsets enhances versatility, and this frameset may be the ideal foundation for building up your dream bike.

Colnago C64 Road Frameset Team Edition (Sloping Geometry)

Renowned for producing framesets of the highest quality, offering an unmatched ride feel, Colnago are in their 64th year. In celebration of this, and following 2 years of research and development, the Italian company have released the C64. This edition of the road frameset comes in the stunning colours of UAE Team Emirates, and features a sloping geometry that is suited to the majority of riders.

A number of small yet significant upgrades make this frameset lighter and stiffer than its C60 predecessor, while further enhancing ride quality. The frame and fork are finished with a lighter unidirectional carbon and the overall weight reduction is a significant 200 grams.

The fork has been redesigned with an external rib shape and an internal rib in the steerer to increase rigidity as well as comfort. The fork houses the pivots for direct mount brakes and is now 5mm longer, with carbon dropouts. The reshaped headtube reduces weight and increases side stiffness. The headset design is borrowed from the Concept, and a revised upper cup material results in improved absorption of road shock to reduce fatigue.

The downtube is similar to that of the C60, with a narrowed lower portion to perfectly balance with the rear triangle. Torsional stiffness is increased by the addition of a recessed bottle cage area, creating two ribs around the middle. A further advantage is that your bottle cage is hidden from the wind, reducing drag. If you choose a mechanical groupset, the cable stops are now tucked in behind the headtube.

A significant change to this frame comes in the meeting of the seat tube with the seat tube lug, that now forms a single piece; the advantages being enhanced stiffness and reduced weight. The supplied aerodynamic seatpost has a 15mm offset, but others can be purchased, and the new design improves vertical compliance. A hidden integrated clamp secures the post in place and is tightened from below.

With a moulded cable guide, the bottom bracket lug now has a bigger radius that improves shifting. Still designed around a ThreadFit82.5 bottom bracket, you get both reliability and top performance.

The chainstays and dropouts are now a one-piece construction, increasing vertical compliance and retaining the same lateral stiffness so, together with asymmetric chainstays, ensure your power will be efficiently translated into speed.

Whether you're looking to build up a bike for racing, tackling high mountain passes, or for something in between, the C64 offers the perfect blend of stiffness, efficient power transfer and supreme handling.
