Ideal for riders looking for a climbing wheel with an aero advantage, the ENVE SES 3.4 NBT Tubular Wheelset with Ceramic Chris King R45 Hubs is extremely lightweight, weighing a mere 1357 grams. The tubular tyre compatible construction contributes significantly to the reduced weight; no reinforcement is needed in the walls and, with no inner tube required, the overall wheel-tyre system is lighter. Aside from this, a tubular setup means enhanced responsiveness when climbing, accelerating and cornering and an overall improved ride feel.
The rim profile has been designed for stability in the windiest conditions. A 38mm depth on the front and 42mm on the rear provides the perfect blend of stability and drag reduction. The external rim width is 27.5mm and has been optimised for use with 25mm tyres for reduced rolling resistance and increased traction and comfort.
These wheels suit the mountains perfectly and the moulded brake track increases friction for increased stopping power, and fast water clearance makes for exceptional braking in both dry and wet conditions. You can brake heavily when required on long descents thanks to the high-temperature resistant resin system that eliminates the risk of overheating that can sometimes be a problem with full carbon wheels.
