Santa Cruz Chameleon Carbon C 7 S 29" Mountain Bike 2020
A Santa Cruz stalwart has received a dramatic update by way of a carbon frame. This significant evolutionary step has resulted in increased performance being naturally infused into their new Chameleon Carbon C S 29" Mountain Bike. The original versatility remains, however, allowing new carbon inspired traits to be experienced across a whole gamut of riding all from jump lines through to bike-packing.
The newly developed carbon frame brings with it an inborn level of vibration dampening, but the real differences are felt due to the materials increased stiffness and responsiveness. These traits vastly improve nimbleness and acceleration through corners before the partnered Fox 34 Performance suspension fork cushions rough trials and in turn, promotes increased control.
The Race Face AR 29er rims roll through irregular surfaces with aplomb and are blended with the efficient and slick rolling DT Swiss 370 hubs that are well renowned for their reliability and low maintenance requirements. The SRAM GX Eagle 12-speed gearset ensures quick, intuitive shifting across its wide-ratio cassette bringing performance across any terrain. The SRAM Stylo crankset is then linked to an oversized DUB axle to provide efficient forward drive before hydraulic brakes and 180mm rotors allow for smooth, modulated stopping power.
A RockShox dropper seatpost allows for adjustable saddle clearance according to the terrain while the Race Face Aeffect handlebar and stem configuration promote sturdy levels of control even down technical trails and over irregular jumps. An already dependable off-road companion is then completed with swappable dropouts to facilitate the use of either 29er or 27.5+ wheels as well as different tyre widths to fine-tune use across differing landscapes.
