Specialized Turbo Vado SL 5.0 Electric Hybrid Bike 2021
The Specialized Turbo Vado SL 5.0 Electric Hybrid Bike is an e-bike refined for ease of use and manageability every day. At 40% lighter than a traditional e-bike, this super-light machine is built for the commute and city living - kitted out with a lightweight yet robust E5 aluminium frame, the days of lugging your e-bike through traffic are long gone. Down the stairs, on the train, slotted into a bike rack and up the stairs again, the Vado 5.0 is your ticket to moving through the city in style and comfort. Agile handling is ensured by the low centre of gravity on this bike, created through placing the battery and 1.95kg motor as far down as possible for a responsive ride you can feel confident on. The Specialized 1.1 motor lends a hand should you need it, providing assistance up to 25km/h or 15.5mph in sync with your cadence for a predictable and even power output - no sudden decelerations here. When the extra watts are no longer needed, the motor’s clutch system can fully decouple from the crank so you experience no drag or resistance when riding unassisted. Your commute is stress-free thanks to the 320Wh (watt-hours) battery life and up to 130km range provided by a single charge, so there's no need for frantic charging at the office.
Should you want to explore a little further on your Vado 5.0, kit it out with mudguards and racks, and load it up for a great handling weekend steed that'll give you an extra boost if you start to flag. You're never caught short when the nights close in, thanks to the integrated front and rear lights and bell that keep you safe, seen (and heard) out on the road. Fatigue won't be quick to set in should you choose to have a big day in the saddle with Future Shock 1.5, a cartridge-based suspension element that is placed above the headtube to smooth surfaces and amp up comfort without compromising speed or weight.
When gradients ramp up, Shimano XT/SLX components have you covered, with the 12-speed capability and smooth shifting as a result of smaller gear-to-gear jumps, so you can spin up - not grind along wishing for that extra ratio. Built, Checked, Tuned and Tested
All our bikes are fully built, checked, tuned and tested by our Cytech qualified mechanics and then securely packaged, ready for delivery. All you have to do is add the pedals (if included), attach the handlebars to the stem and tighten them following the included detailed instructions or by watching our video and using the provided FREE tools. All bikes collected from our shop, are built, tested and ready to ride. For hassle-free home delivery and bike set-up from a qualified mechanic use our Premier Delivery Service.
Please note, occasionally, manufacturers may change the specification without notice. Bicycles do not come with pedals unless otherwise specified. Bikes ordered for delivery will not arrive with the pedals installed, please refer to the owners manual and pedal installation guides provided for guidance. We do not install accessories to bikes, including mudguards. Bikes ordered for delivery that have tubeless compatible tyres and rims will arrive with inner tubes installed or with tubeless valves installed, this will be brand dependent. Sealant is available to be purchased separately.
