Vielo Sigma Sports Exclusive V+1 Disc Adventure Road Bike
The Sigma Sports Exclusive V+1 Disc Adventure Road Bike from British father and son brand Vielo has been painstakingly designed for the exacting conditions of UK all-road riding. The uni-directional carbon frame and fork weigh just 880 grams and 400 grams respectively (claimed), which is light by any standards, but considering its intended usage, the plethora of fixings for bags, bottles, racks, mudguards and disc brake compatibility it's phenomenal. The compliance built into the carbon frameset provides a superbly responsive and comfortable ride, aided and abetted by the ability to take 42mm wide 700c or 2.0” 650b tyres, but doesn’t sacrifice the stiffness required to make progress. Fitted with narrow tyres this machine would feel every inch the road bike.
The build on this Sigma Sports exclusive uses Shimano Ultegra Di2 hydraulic shifters to control the mountain bike XTR Di2 rear derailleur and hydraulic XT disc calipers, giving light, precise shifting across the large 11-speed 42t XT cassette, and great power with excellent modulation to the braking. The Knight Composites TLA carbon clincher disc wheelset is also incredibly light at just 1,315 grams, yet is tubeless compatible and strong enough to cope with this bike’s intended usage. WTB’s 42mm Resolute tubeless ready tyres are the perfect companion to the V+1, giving ample off-road ability in most conditions.
