The 58mm deep rims feature Zipp's Aerodynamic Boundary Layer Control (ABLC), a dimpled profile that further elevates the aerodynamic performance of the rim, especially in crosswinds. The rim profile is a near-constant width almost all the way to the spoke bed, which provide a great aerodynamic performance by controlling the airflow to the rear half of the wheel.
Zipp has included a vibration-absorbing material between two layers of rigid carbon on the rims to reduce road buzz and shocks by 10%. The braking surface features a heat-resistant resin to improve longevity and braking performance, especially handy on long descents.
The Zipp 177 hub is highly durable and features improved bearing protection, so you can spend more time riding and less time on maintenance.
