What is the Cycle to Work Scheme?
To promote healthier journeys to work and to reduce environmental pollution, the 1999 Finance Act introduced an annual tax exemption, which allows employers to loan cycles and cyclists' safety equipment to employees as a tax-free benefit. The exemption, known as the Cycle to Work Scheme was one of a series of measures introduced under the Government's Green Transport Plan.

No, we no longer accept Halfords Cycle2Work scheme vouchers.
Can I access the Cycle to Work Scheme?
Your employer needs to be registered with one of the above Cycle to Work Schemes. They can find out how to do this from information on one of the Cycle to Work Scheme websites (see above).
What can and can't I purchase with the Cycle to Work Scheme?
Bikes and safety equipment are all purchasable with the Cycle to Work Scheme whereas Power meters, Headphones, GPS bike computers and navigation devices, Bike racks for cars, Cameras, Turbo trainers or rollers, Gift cards and Nutritional products are all excluded from the scheme.
Can I purchase sale items with my Cycle to Work scheme voucher?
Yes, you can. Bikes and accessories reduced from the full RRP are subject to a 10% of voucher total charge. Eg: a sale item purchased with a £1000 voucher will be subject to a £100 charge.
Can I apply a discount code against a Cycle to Work order?
No, discount codes cannot be applied against Cycle to Work orders.
How can I order online using a Cycle to Work scheme voucher?
We only accept Cyclescheme vouchers for online orders. Simply follow the steps here to order your new bike online and have it delivered directly to your door.
How can I use a Cycle to Work scheme voucher in-store?
n-store we are able to accept a wider range of Cycle to Work scheme vouchers in-store. Simply follow the steps here to use your vouchers in-store.
Although the above procedure applies to the vast majority of schemes there are some variations that are a result of the way an employer’s scheme is set up, typical examples would be if they are using a finance company or a benefits provider.
