Traditional wetsuits use 5mm neoprene, raising the legs out of the water a little too much for some swimmers. This can cause unwanted pressure on the back resulting in lower back pain. The Zone3 Align Womens Wetsuit combats this problem by employing a varied thickness of Yamamoto neoprene to the suit. The result is a garment that promotes a neutral swim position with unrivalled freedom of movement. In fact, the expansion rate around the shoulders of the suit is seven times higher than conventional wetsuit materials.
An SCS coating makes the suit incredibly hydrophobic. It repels water to help the swimmer glide quickly with every stroke, keeping the suit light as it does not readily absorb water - perfect for long distance open water swimming. This has the added bonus of aiding transition times, along with the Pro Speed cuffs and downward YKK zip that combine to make this a wetsuit that can be removed at speed.
In the Align Wetsuit, Zone3 have used a Yamamoto neoprene that is derived from limestone rather than petroleum. This makes it a more eco-friendly option than competitor products.
