Continental Competition Vectran Tubular Tyre
Insiders already know it...the professional riders of teams such as T-Mobile, Credit Agricole, Astana, Unibet and Caisse D' Epargne have all chased victories using this very same German hand produced tubular tyre, the Continental Competition Vectran Tubular Tyre. The Pro's have tested the 'liquid crystal fibre' Vectran punture protection of this tyre in the harsh conditions of professional racing and long distance training in the worst conditions.
Since 2006 Continental have produced the Competition tubular with a Vectran puncture protection breaker. This application of a single layer of the cut resistant Vectran material under the tread instead of the previous two 'nylon breakers' reduces weight and improves rolling resistance and rolling comfort.
