Specialized Butcher DH MTB Tyre
Riding downhill whether training, racing or just for fun demands supreme grip, fast rolling resistance and confidence from the tyres. The Specialized Butcher DH MTB Tyre delivers on all these fronts, making it the ultimate downhill tyre for those daredevils who like to ride on the edge.
Used by the Specialized World Cup DH Team the Butcher has been developed specifically to be pushed to it's limits. Gripping the trails and providing surefooted traction through the corners is key to any high performance downhill tyre. The Butcher DH features raised centre knobs and pairs them with shoulder knobs, specially developed for biting into the corners and inspiring confidence and egging you on to push the tyres harder and harder.
The 60 TPI wire bead Dual Ply construction is very durable. Two compounds are used to give this tyre it's strength and compliance. The base is made from 70a whilst the top from a 42a rubber compound. Punctures are always a real possibility when bouncing off rocks and tree stumps. Pinch punctures are the most common cause of deflation so butyl inserts are a welcome addition providing an extra layer of protection.
Fast rolling, the Specialized Butcher DH Tyre in it's 26x2.3 size, inflated to 25-50 psi weighs a very competitive 1250 grams.
