This gives a 10,000mm waterproof rating and a 10,000g/m2/24 hours rating for breathability meaning that the humid air can escape, keeping the inside dry, but ensuring that any rain on the outside stays on the outside. The nature of 2.5 ply fabrics (using an outer fabric, a membrane and then a printed layer rather than a scrim) means that that jacket can be very light and packable as it has less bulk than traditional three-ply products, and actually only weighs just over 200 grams.
