The Vento Solocush Tacky Bar Tape is from Fizik’s range of lightweight tape intended for racing but still features a tacky surface for all-weather grip and 2.7mm of cushioning for comfort. The perfect upgrade when it’s time to replace tired-looking bar tape.
The tape is slightly tacky, but not in a 70s wide collar way; it’s easy to wrap both sides of the bars. I’m really very happy with it. The tackiness does pick up the dirt from my grubby home mechanic hands, but I think a quick wipe with IPA (other beverages may be suitable) would clear it up nicely.
Had this for a month now. Grip is great and cleans up pretty well. They are pretty thick and so give good cushioning. Only slight complaint (which should kind of be expected), as they are quite thick, when wrapping they tend to bunch up, and they're not as easy to keep a smooth finish all the way around. Fitted bar tape a few times before this without issue, and perhaps some seasoned pros will say its technique (probably also this), but I imagine this is part of the course with a thicker grip. Just a warning. I'm still very happy with the overall finish.
