I've been wearing this over a silicone cap as my head (plus hair) is too big for a thermal hat, and the cap alone wasn't warm enough for 5 degrees. It does the job, stays in place and keeps my head warm enough, though admittedly, I haven't done anything head-down yet.

Does this stop water getting in your ears?
