Shimano's 105 5800 groupset has been turning heads for all the right reasons since its induction, and this Shimano HG601 105 5800 11 Speed Chain has been an integral part of this.
The design is incredibly narrow, as well as being symmetrical, to give an exceptionally lightweight 11-speed chain. These design features also enable silky-smooth shifts and enhance durability.
Shimano has tackled the problem of the chain such as through the design of the outer plates. These plates are then treated with Sil-Tec (PTFE plating), which again has performance and durability benefits.
The inner plates have not been neglected. Shimano's attention to detail has facilitated the development of these such that they further augment the smoothness of shifting, especially under extreme loads, by improving the contact with gears. This translate to superb rigidity, better pedalling efficiency and stealthy running.
