Silca StripChip Hot Melt Chain Degreaser

Silca’s StripChip Hot Melt Chain Degreaser eliminates the necessity of degreasing your chain before applying wax. Its innovative degreaser additive removes factory grease from your new chain simultaneously while waxing, requiring no preparation. This streamlines and enhances the chain waxing process. The StripChip Chain Degreaser is specifically formulated to complement Silca’s Secret Chain Blend Hot Wax.

The advanced additive in StripChip binds with factory grease in new chains and transforms it into wax, saving time and ensuring a clean, smooth, and efficient drivetrain. It is available in a block of six 12g pieces, with just one piece being adequate to degrease a single chain. Simply place 300g of Secret Chain Blend Hot Wax into your Wax Melter, raise the temperature to 125°C, and when the wax begins to melt, break off one piece of StripChip and place it on top of the wax.

Allow the wax and Hot Melt Chain Degreaser to completely melt until the StripChip is no longer visible, then use a cable coupler to immerse your chain into the mixture. Gently stir it for 30 seconds, taking care not to spill wax outside the Wax Melter, then let it soak for 10 minutes.

Afterward, stir the chain for another 30 seconds, then reduce the machine's temperature back to 75°C. Once it reaches this temperature, typically taking about 10 minutes, it will be safe to use the cable coupler to retrieve the chain and hang it on a waxing stand to dry before turning off the Wax Melter. Allow it to cool for 10-15 minutes before handling or installing it on your bike.
