Santa Cruz Bronson Carbon C R 27.5" Mountain Bike 2021
Santa Cruz’s Bronson Carbon C R 27.5" Mountain Bike combines a burly mid-travel carbon frame with components geared towards aggressive trail riding. It uses their Carbon C layup for strength and stiffness with the Virtual Pivot Point (VPP) and RockShox Super Deluxe Select rear shock doing a great job of controlling pedal induced bob whilst providing 150mm of plush, controlled travel. The fork is also from RockShox, in the guise of their 160mm travel Yari RC with Motion Control damper and DebonAir spring. 27.5" wheels increase the agility of the Bronson so it can blast through technical sections with aplomb.
The DT Swiss hubs and Race Face AR rims provide a stiff and robust setup aided by the Boost spacing, and the wheels are tubeless-ready, so a quick setup will allow lower pressure to be used for greater grip and to reduce the potential for flats. Braking from the SRAM Guide T hydraulic brakes is reassuringly powerful and easily modulated, with the 180mm disc rotors helping disperse the heat on longer descents for consistent performance.
The wide range of gear ratios come courtesy of the 12-speed SRAM GX Eagle drivetrain which has sufficient ratios for the ascents and the downhills too. Using the Race Face Aeffect dropper seatpost, the saddle height can be lowered on the fly for increased confidence and manoeuvrability when faced with a steep, technical section.
