Santa Cruz Stigmata Carbon CC RED AXS Reserve Gravel Bike 2020
The Santa Cruz Stigmata Carbon CC RED AXS Reserve Gravel Bike fuses a wealth of off-road knowledge and experience with advanced manufacturing techniques, materials and components to ensure that the adventure continues beyond the road.
The full carbon frame and accompanying carbon fork are at the heart of the Stigmata. The composite lay-up has been conceived from experience gathered from harsh mountain biking scenarios and results in a marriage of stiffness, composed handling and surface feedback. Versatility is then naturally built into this chassis by way of its generous tyre clearance. When using 700c wheels, tyre widths of up to 45mm are catered for, allowing adept passage across all manner of tracks, trails and paths. 650b wheels with 2.1-inch tyres are also permitted for rides of a particularly tricky nature. Mudguard mounts then add even more scope of purpose facilitating winter road riding and commuting before the threaded bottom bracket adds robustness and no-hassle convenience.
The Santa Cruz Reserve wheels are optimised for ride feel and compliance over rough surfaces. The full carbon rims feature a specific material lay-up to cater for harder impacts while their off-centre spoke drilling equalises bracing angles and spoke tensions for an ultimately robust build. The 22mm internal rim width mates perfectly with wider tubeless or clincher tyres before the i9 hubset promotes low rolling resistance within a precision made, sturdy body.
Gear changes come courtesy of the range-topping SRAM RED AXS groupset. This wireless gear set-up flicks through the wide-ranging 12-speed cassette and double chainring configuration with exactness before efficient forward drive is promoted by the lightweight carbon crank arms and accompanying oversize DUB axle. The SRAM RED hydraulic brakes then deliver reliable and modulated stopping power in any weather condition.
The build is completed thoroughly by the carbon flared drop bars, carbon seatpost and aluminium stem courtesy of Easton.
