Covid-19 - A message from Ian Whittingham and Jason Turner, the founders of Sigma Sports

Dear Valued Customer,

Given the current situation with COVID-19 - and the growing concern of a second wave - we wanted to update you on the current steps we are taking to keep our stores clean and safe for you and our staff. We are continuing to follow official guidance from the government as well as taking our own decisions. The wellbeing of our customers and employees is of huge importance to us, whilst also doing our utmost to deliver the best possible experience when shopping with us.

We also remain committed to the highest standards of hygiene and cleanliness and have strengthened our procedures in this area to minimise the spread of COVID-19.

Respecting social distancing and avoiding the risk of contact

Whilst the emphasis is still to maintain correct social distancing wherever possible - and to avoid any possible contact with anyone who may have coronavirus - we have had to introduce a number of new procedures to the stores, as well as some restrictions on normal services. With customers visiting our stores for a number of different reasons we are speaking with every customer on arrival so that we can guide you accordingly. We ask that you remain patient during this time and allow our staff to help you as quickly as possible.

The law now states that all staff and customers in any retail outlet must wear a suitable face covering. If you have forgotten your mask we can supply one in-store in exchange for a £1 contribution to World Bicycle Relief.

The services we are currently offering are as follows

Bike Consultations: These are by appointment only. We have been operating with this system since lockdown and it has proven to be very successful. Appointments are one hour long and allow us to identify the correct style and model of bike, as well as the initial set-up position. Reserve and Collect: For all items, simply place your order online at and we will contact you to confirm when it’s ready for collection.

General Browsing: We now have general browsing at both our stores. At our Hampton Wick store, this includes both the ground floor (Specialized, Cannondale, Trek, Cervelo, and all accessories) and first floor (further bike brands, shoes, helmets, eyewear and clothing). We are restricting the number of customers for browsing at any one time in accordance with the number of staff we have working (ratio 1:1).

NB: Wherever possible please browse with your eyes only and avoid unnecessarily touching items of stock. Our changing rooms are available but we are removing clothing from the shop floor that has been tried on for 24 hours.
