Perhaps the most exciting cyclist of the past decade, Tadej Pogačar joins presenter and former national champion Matt Stephens for the latest episode of Sigma Sports Café Ride.

The day started with Tadej and his partner Urška Žigart welcoming Matt to their apartment in Monaco before setting off on a short training ride over the beautiful Col d’Eze. A climb that will feature on a time trial stage of next season’s Tour de France, it was the perfect setting for a casual chat about Pogačar's Grand Tour successes in 2020 and 2021. As they finish their ride in Nice, Tadej hints at his hopes for next season with a backdrop of Promenade des Anglais, where the Tour de France will finish in 2024.

For the Café Ride series, the route, cafe and various landmarks are chosen to reflect the personality of each featured guest, and the Côte d'Azur had the class, sophistication and light-heartedness reflected in Tadej’s personality. During an al fresco lunch on a sunny terrace, there were plenty of laughs and perhaps a surprising amount of innuendo.

It is not just a certain Mr Pogačar taking the limelight in this episode. The bikes too play a crucial role and undoubtedly two of the finest machines were assembled for Tadej and Matt to ride around the roads of Monaco and Nice. The bikes in question were provided by Colnago, with the V4Rs and C68 being the choice for the Slovenian and the Brit. Explore the Italian brand's range for yourself by clicking the link below.

The Sigma Sports Cafe Ride Tadej Pogacar Matt Stephens Kit

The Kit

Dressing to take a spin with a multiple Grand Tour winner takes some consideration, so it is no wonder Matt pulled out all the stops with his ensemble. With the help of Universal Colours, MET, Lake and Oakley Matt's outfit was perfect for the dry and mild weather Monaco was blessed with on the day of the ride.
