Bikes Built Your Way
March
Three very different builds, three bikes that all came out of the Sigma Sports workshop. In our March Bikes Built Your Way installment we take a look at a BMC that pushes integration to a whole new level, a Seven Cycles that offers a fully custom geometry and a Cannondale in Nuun Sigma Sports-London Race Team spec. Read on to learn more about the bikes.
1. BMC Timemachine R01 Road Bike
Bridging the gap between a top of the range road bike a state of the art time trial bike, the BMC Timemachine R01 Road Bike is one of the most modular focused bikes on the market. Using the BMC Timemachine 01 Road Module Disc Frameset as the basis, we have added a set of Mavic Cosmic Pro Carbon SL UST Disc wheels and a SRAM Force eTap AXS groupset to the build.
Industry-leading integration sets this bike apart from the competition, with the Integrated Cockpit System (ICS) providing an aerodynamic platform to control the bike from. The modular system on the frame itself combines hydration with storage, while improving the bike's aerodynamic profile. An aero seatpost and TCC Speed fork further add to the bike's high-performance credentials.
2. Seven Cycles Axiom SL Road Bike
Made in the USA, Seven Cycles take going custom to a whole new level. A frame builder that specialises in titanium, the Axiom SL can be configured to your exact measurements. For this build our customer chose an array of components that don't just work together aesthetically, they also, when combined, enhance the performance of this bike.
Equipped with a Chris King headset, Knight Composite 50 Tubeless Aero Carbon Clincher Disc DT Swiss 240 wheelset and Hutchinson Fusion 5 tyres, this build means business. Throw in VEL Snake Premium bar tape and a Bontrager Aeolus Pro saddle and you have a bike that delivers when it comes to comfort, speed and looks.
3. Cannondale SystemSix Road Bike
Sigma Sports are proud to continue their ongoing support of the Nuun Sigma Sports-London Race Team. Decked out with some of the coolest equipment, the team will be training and racing on Cannondale road and time trial bikes for 2020. Possessing a strong sprint, George Gori is one of original members of the team and when he is not racing he can be found in the Sigma Sports workshop, working as a mechanic. It is no surprise then that George's 2020 team bike is an immaculate Cannondale SystemSix Road Bike.
Although the SystemSix can be purchased in many different guises, George opted for the frameset and went about adding team sponsored parts on this black and purple aero carbon frame. ENVE are the team's wheel partner and the riders will be putting the 5.6 disc tubeless wheels to good effect as they tackle everything from fast, flat criteriums to local time trials with these hoops. 3T Cycling adds finishing touches to the build, with a traditional, round handlebar being an interesting touch, one chosen specifically for George's position.
