Bought these to make riding in cold and wet weather more bearable. Yes they are expensive but they really are worth every penny. I rode in 4hrs of persistent heavy rain and wind a few weekends back. These did an excellent job of keeping my legs warm and my lower legs protected from heavy road spray. They are so good I actually look forward to riding in crap weather now because they offer so much protection. You wear your overshoes under the protective shin material, this keeps water out and heat in. The S9 insert is also super comfy.

The knees, thighs, crotch and hips, which are areas that hit the elements head-on, are wrapped in a double layer format that comprises the wind and waterproof SPHERE Ultra material as an outer shell and the highly insulating OSMOS Heavy textile as a thermal lining. The highly moisture-wicking SPHERE Medium material is positioned on the back of the legs to complement the front panels by reducing the chances of overheating and perspiration build-up. A waterBarrier layer on the lower legs ensures that rain and road spray ingress is minimised.
All of these sophisticated panels are linked together via the brand's raceFIT pattern. This second-skin-like cut is lightly compressive but is completely unrestrictive and follows the motion of the legs entirely when pedalling. The panels are kept in position by the flexible bib strap configuration that forms an A-frame construction over the upper body to support and hold without irritating.
The EQUIPE RS Winter padded insert features a triple layer of perforated foam and kukuPenthhouse technology to provide sublime levels of comfort, reduced pressure and ventilation for the longest of winter rides. The pad's minimised stitching format enables it to move with the legs naturally to reduce the chances of saddle chafing.
Reflective strips on the calves complete the tight by granting increased safety in low light riding conditions.

Quality of Product
I bought these to replace my Rapha PT tights I have hammered for 6years and loved. I ride in the UK winter. Quality-this is as expected given price and reputation - superb. Material consists of 2 very thin membranes which I had doubts would be sufficient to keep me warm however I have to say I have used at <0C dry and also ~0-5C in the wet&wind and they are brilliant. No wind chill. Water does come through eventually however, beauty is they dry very fast. FIT-Important to note, it is extreamly close! Way more than another top-end brands I have used, I had issues with rubbing at the back of the knee initially, however after a few rides I realised it was the seam, once I pulled the tight round a little so the seam is on the side of the knee it was fine. Unlike other tights, they don't find the right fit themselves when riding, you have to put them exactly there initially as they don't really move once on. There is definetly an art to putting them on, you have to make a conscious effort to ensure the tight is stretched fully from top to btm of your leg but once you get them there they are fantastic. If you want a more relaxed fit I think other models may suit better. In my opinion I am not sure the extended rear straps offer anything. Personally I like the neoprene, easy to fold up and over cover shoes, yes it gets a little moist under but I remain warm and that's most important. Unfortunately for me the only downside (and to my surprise given the reputation) is the chamois which I find very thin and just does not agree with me however this is entirely individual so I don't feel I can mark down the product for this. Price-tricky, they are obvs very expensive however if you feel the cold easy like me and enjoy riding outside in UK winter then they are a good investment in my opinion as you are receiving a truly top quality product that is superior to a budget or mid-range tight. 178cm, 62kg Size S.
