The pulley wheels are made from aluminium whilst the coated bearings are far more durable than standard steel.

The SRAM AXS 12-Speed Coated Road Pulley Wheels from premium Danish brand CeramicSpeed works with RED and Force AXS components, with the narrow-wide tooth profile providing precise chain engagement and retention. The aluminium wheels are both lightweight and durable, improving shifting and lowering friction losses in the drivetrain. The coated bearings have a three microns thick metallic layer applied which is 75% harder than hardened steel races for superb durability and this super-smooth layer lowers friction still further.
