Upgraded to the Fizik Overcurves from a pair of entry level Shimanos. The difference in quality and performance was worlds apart. Would recommend a paid of these to anybody interested.

Fizik R4 Tempo Overcurve Iridium Road Cycling Shoes
Fizik’s R4 Tempo Overcurve Iridium Road Cycling Shoes are designed as a versatile option that will suit many different riders. The BOA IP1 dial makes fitting and adjustment very straightforward, even whilst riding and the PU laminated mesh upper is both supportive and well ventilated to prevent any discomfort. The R4 outsole has 15% infused carbon fibre for moderate stiffness that is efficient for pedalling but also comfortable on even the longest rides. As the ankle bones, aren’t symmetrical, Fizik’s Overcurve design is also asymmetrical, with the throat of the shoe curving from the outside to the inner side of the foot for a better, more natural fit. An iridescent colour scheme sets the shoe off beautifully.

Sizing note: Fizik shoes are built with a performance fit: true to size in length but with a narrow, low-volume toe box. Do not size up — it won't solve a width issue. If you have a wider or higher-volume foot, choose the Wide Fit version. If you're unsure whether Fizik suits your foot shape, check our size and fit guide before ordering.
Accurate sizing guidance can be gained by measuring the length of your feet from the back of the heels to the tip of the big toe. This measurement corresponds to the "Foot Length" column in our size chart.
Reviews
Bought about a month ago, find these very comfortable on long and short rides. I've previously used size 49e Shimano RC-7 previous to the current models on sale with Sigma, which were wide and very stiff. I purchased these shoes in size 48 and they come up slightly wider which gives more comfort for longer rides. They aren't as stiff but then they aren't flexy either. A good all round shoe which seems pretty true to size when you use Fizik's sizing chart. Can't really comment on longevity of quality as only owned for a month. Only thing that would be better would be two dials rather than the one and the price is high.

Q & A
1 question answered
I suffer from a corn and painful enlarged joint on my second toe. Also bunions. Would you recommend the Fizik overcurve or Lake CX176 wide fit?
Hi there, I would personally recommend you go for the Lake CX176 Wide as you will have more room in the shoe, Many thanks Joe W
About Fizik
Where the rider meets the bike.
Fizik was founded in Northern Italy with the conviction that the three points of contact between rider and bike — saddle, shoes, handlebar tape — deserve the same engineering focus as the bike itself. Every product is engineered around the rider's body to make the long ride feel shorter.
Fizik's saddle range is organised around the Spine Concept — Bull, Chameleon, Snake — matching saddle shape to rider flexibility. The result is a comfort claim backed by anatomy rather than marketing.
