Wanted a jacket/jersey that could wear to commute in cold weather without overheating. This does that really well and has several nice design features. Its soft, stretchy and breathable, it keeps out wind and light rain really well. I am a bang-on 38" chest and the fit was very good. It could perhaps fit a touch closer/aero if it had a bit more stretch but its a good comfortable fit rather than race. The cuffs and collar are really well thought out. Like others have said the zip is prone to sticking but I havent found this too difficult yet. Bear in mind its not really packable so not like a shell you can pull on and off. You need to layer appropriately to wear all ride (which you can do because of its breathability and covers a wide range of temperatures). Overall very good product. Could be improved with a better zip and a bit more elasticity.

1) Chest: Measure around the fullest part of your chest, keeping the measuring tape horizontal.
2) Waist: Measure around the narrowest part (below the bottom rib an above the hip bones), keeping the tape horizontal.
3) Hips: Measure around the fullest part of your hips, keeping the tape horizontal.
4) Arm Length: Measure from the highest point of your shoulder following your bent arm down to wrist bone. Bend your arm slightly.
5) Inside Leg: Measure from the top of your inner leg along the inside seam to the bottom of your leg.

Another excellent piece of kit from Gorewear. Good sizing with not too tight a fit so can comfortably wear a base layer. I’m 44 chest and bought XXL. Great fabric to keep you warm when temperature is between 0-5C. Only gripe is zipped back pocket is too small to take today’s mobiles. Great jacket.

Hi, what size jacket would you recommend for me? I am 5ft 6ins in height,medium build with 42 inch chest and 36 inch waist.The Gore -Tex chart is suggesting XL size.What size would you suggest? Many thanks.

Is the sizing true to size? For a tight fit, for a 6ft/ 80kg rider, how does it compare to other brands such as assos or rapha? I often wear a medium jersey in rapha for example.
I am 6 foot and 82kg so similar to you. I have an XXL - it fits perfectly with room for a base and a thicker mid layer. Slight movement of fabric at rear of arms but no flapping. I also have an Assos winter jacket which is great ( they are remarkably similar in use) but the Assos is a much slimmer fit so you can’t get much underneath it. The gore is roomy enough to accommodate layers. In rapha I am XXL as well. The gore is, in my opinion a warmer jacket. The tail is lower than the Assos. The Assos has better pockets as the gore pockets are at an angle on the left & right with a straight middle pocket. All the Assos are straight up and down. No issues in real world use unless you carry lots in your rear pockets.
