Lightweight Obermayer Evo Schwarz Edition Disc Wheelset

The Schwarz Edition of the Lightweight’s Obermayer Evo Disc Wheelset is aimed are riders who want to climb and descend as fast as possible, with an emphasis on low weight, efficiency and control.

Key to the performance of the wheels is the design of the tubeless-ready carbon rims; by using an Active Foam core inside the carbon, the stiffness, and therefore efficiency, has been increased whilst also reducing weight. The foam also improves ride quality by damping down any vibrations from the surface of the road. Innovative carbon spokes that span the whole diameter of the wheel also aid power transfer, keeping the wheel torsionally stiff and true whether accelerating up a climb or tucking the front end into a tight hairpin on the descent. 

Lightweight’s Pentagon SL hubs have been designed to maximise heat dissipation for consistent, fade-free braking that translates into increased confidence and faster descending. The rear hub uses the lauded internals from DT Swiss’ 180 EXP range, with the ratchet system providing great reliability and efficiency, whilst both Schwarz Edition hubs benefit from CeramicSpeed’s incredibly low friction bearings.
