I bought this to use as a daysack on holiday as my usual daysack is quite a bit bigger etc. It fits in my large rucksack without taking up much room and holds food, extra layer and water when in use; all the essentials for a day trip but not much space for 'just in case' items! The hipbelt pockets are a decent size so useful for storing small items you need regular access to, and the side pockets take Camelbak water bottles. The straps are a good size and its easily adjustable. I would prefer a front mesh pocket as they're really handy, and trampoline style mesh ventilation would also make the talon/tempest range even better. There aren't that many fully ventilated hiking backpacks out there! Also, Osprey's sizing is confusing (they say XS/S or M/L) because there is overlap between the 2 bags, so if you're at the upper limit of the XS/S size, you'll fit the larger bag too, which means gaining the full 9L capacity (unless its changed and both size bags are now 9L?).
