Parlee Altum Disc Road Frameset 2017

The Parlee Altum Disc Road Frameset 2017 is specifically engineered for disc brake systems, but also features the same ride characteristics and performance enhancing qualities that its little brother, the Altum 2017 holds. The only difference is the modular rear dropout that accepts QR135 or through axle 142mm wheels.

Parlee do not just use standard carbon fibre layups to produce such a sublime bike, though. Using their own, complex FEA (Finite Element Analysis) modelling and physical testing, Parlee have been able to create an entirely new carbon layup process that places the high modulus carbon fibre in strategic areas to maximise weight reduction without negatively impacting strength or stiffness.

A more pronounced tube shaping and top tube - head tube junction increases the strength of the areas, ensuring everything is stiff, strong and lighter than the Altum 2017’s predecessor. Combine this with the Parlee Road Disc fork with a 12mm through axle, and the Parlee produces snappy, responsive handling that takes any vibrations and bumps in its stride.

Parlee boast that their bikes aren’t just about stiffness and weight, but about how the bike rides, and thanks to greater compliance in the rear triangle, you get a much smoother ride than many other frames of this price point. All Altum models use a traditionally round 31.6mm with a hidden, integrated binder. This cuts down the weight of the seatpost to just 185g.

The frame and fork are fully compatible with mechanical or hydraulic braking systems and various rotor sizes (140-160mm) for added versatility and upgrade options.
