The good part about the FC25 Hydration system is that it is easy to remove and disassemble for cleaning. This is very good because it will be covered in sticky sports drink, as will you, your aero-bars, your front wheel and a large part of your bike. My Trinity needs a steam clean. The key to this incredible ability to distribute drink in every direction is the 'no-splash refill port', perhaps given its name by the most ironic person living on the earth. It is, to be fair, hard to describe the wave of liquid which will gush forth from this aperture as a splash - it would be like describing a tsunami as a ripple. This is because it has nothing actually holding it in. It's a piece of rubber which sits in a wide hole about 5 cm diameter and has a sort of double layer so that anything sloshing around inside can't escape. This is true while the thing stays in place. Unfortunately what they forgot was that you now have the best part of a kg of water INSIDE and when you go over even a fairly small bump what happens to the water? Yes that's right physics buffs, it bounces up against the rubber which has nothing more than gravity to stop it from flying off. The idiocy of this design flaw leads me to believe that the product was tested on newly-laid tarmac with tyres inflated to 60psi and a front suspension. It certainly wasn't around Richmond Park. Tourists on Boris bikes came flying past as I gingerly approached each speed bump or rumble strip, slowing and searching for the least lumpy line. On the plus side I can confirm the durability of the fiendish device - it was twice run over by cars before I could retrieve it without any visible signs of damage. Kudos for that. Apart from that it works fine and was easy to fit.
