Product Details
Shimano XT M8000 11 Speed Bike Cassette
Performance & Use Case
The Shimano XT M8000 11-Speed Cassette is the workhorse cassette for XC and trail MTB. Two gear range options cover the spread - 11-42 for XC-style riding with a 50/34 or 1x setup, and 11-46 for steeper trail-style terrain where the extra low gear is welcome. The XT-tier construction balances weight with durability for the long-term abuse of MTB use.
Construction & Materials
Mixed alloy and steel sprocket construction - the largest sprockets are aluminium for weight saving, the smaller, higher-load sprockets are steel for wear life. Shimano Hyperglide+ tooth profiling delivers smooth shifts under MTB load conditions.
Compatibility & Variants
Shimano HG MTB 11-speed freehub body. Compatible with Shimano 11-speed MTB groupsets - SLX, XT and XTR M8000-tier components. Two gear ratio options: 11-42 (XC and trail) and 11-46 (steep trail). Select the gear range that matches your terrain.

Q & A
1 question answered
Would this be compatible on the rear of a Cannondale Topstone gravel bike (purchased from yourselves last month) that has Shimano 105, 11-34t, 11 speed cassette. Looking for the lowest gearing possible on the bike for an off road hilly multiday course.
Hi there, I'm afraid not, The maximum rear ration on your Topstone will be 11-34 on a 105 system, Many thanks Joe W
About Shimano
Shifting the way the world rides.
From a single Osaka workshop in 1921, Shimano has grown into the world's most influential component maker. The brand's relentless engineering — Dura-Ace, Ultegra, GRX, XTR — has shaped the way the world shifts, brakes and rides, on the road and off it.
Shimano's flagship groupset, Dura-Ace, has been the benchmark for top-level road components for more than five decades. Every refinement that lands on Dura-Ace eventually shapes the entire Shimano range, all the way down to entry-level drivetrains.
