The rescue box is really handy for storing patches and spare links in an easy place to find. The Topeak patches that come with it however are poor, they just don't repair the puncture and hold for more than a short while. I've ordered a different brand of patches, which I hope are better, but will continue to use this box. The attached photo is of a patch that I meticulously prepared the tube at home and applied with care. As you can see, it slowly comes away from the edges until it exposes the hole. This one is ruffled as it has now deflated.

This had worked for me when I had a flat trye, I used it for 20km one day, and was on a rack for 2 weeks before it lost all its pressure. When I checked, the air is coming from the repair patch. Buy this if you need something to get you home, after that, change your tube or buy a better patch
