Castelli Perfetto RoS Long Sleeve Jersey

Continuing the proud lineage of their renowned Gabba, Castelli’s Perfetto RoS Long Sleeve Jersey offers race-fit weather protection that is perfect for racing, fast rides and training through the cooler months. RoS stands for Rain or Shine, denoting that Castelli feels this is a product which can be worn in a variety of conditions without suffering from overheating or a lack of breathability or getting soaked to the skin.

To this end, the jacket uses GORE-TEX INFINIUM™ WINDSTOPPER® 205 Warm fabric on the front areas, a fabric which is windproof and highly water-resistant, with critical seams also being taped to further increase its weather protection. The inner is lightly brushed but doesn’t offer huge amounts of inherent insulation, so this is not a piece for snuggling into on cold cafe rides, rather it is better suited to tempo efforts and fast-paced, non-stop outings, much like the original Gabba. Adjusting the thickness of baselayer worn beneath the Perfetto extends its usable range, and provides the perfect way to enjoy its flap-free protection across a broader range of conditions. Two zipped, mesh-backed vents down the sides allow a hit of fresh air if things start feeling a bit warm and the high collar and slim cuffs prevent unwanted drafts.

Whilst just two rear pockets might not seem very many, there is some method to their madness, as the two pockets can then be much larger than normal. This facilitates the carrying of a larger jacket or more spare layers and makes accessing them whilst wearing gloves easier too. There is a sleeve to keep a pump separate within the pocket, which is also quite handy for dropping a house key into.

Bernie,

I have had previous incarnations of Gabba/Perfetto jersies and have never been disappointed with the quality, fit or functionality of any of them. This latest purchase ticks all the boxes as far as quality and fit are concerned and is my go to jersey on cold and damp days - it's incredibly versatile in its temperature range when paired with appropriate base layers. Downside for me is the switch to two rear pockets from three. Not sure if this is the first incarnation to make that change but it doesn't work for me. I tend to carry slightly more in the winter - extra tube and insulated gilet - and it's just harder to cram everything into two pockets instead of three even if the overall volume is the same. Would have been 5* but for that as everything else about it is as brilliant as every other one I've ever owned.

Moss,

I now own 3, Perfetto long sleeve Jersey's (jackets) first one was bought in 2016 size XL, should have bought an L, next was the Perfetto Ros in 2019, Size L, and now received the new Perfetto Ros today; size XL. I like all three jersey's; although they are all different in size!! I'm 178cm tall weigh 73kg, the first XL Perfetto (not the Ros) is a bit roomy on me. The second a Perfetto Ross is Large, a real snug fit; especially under the arms. Now the new Perfetto Ros XL, received today is just sizing between the other two Perfetto's (not tight) but (not Slack) so for sizing of the new Perfetto Ros, for my height 178,cm and weight 73,kg XL is a comfortable fit with a good L/S Base layer. if you a wee bit taller and a wee bit heavier ? say 180cm and 76kg, it would still fit in XL,.. Hope this helps

About Castelli

At the front since 1876.

Castelli has been at the front of cycling apparel since 1876, founded in Milan as the original maker of pro race kit. From the first cycling jerseys to today's WorldTour-proven aero garments, the brand has spent nearly 150 years putting innovation onto the backs of the fastest riders in the world.

Castelli outfitted the first organised cycling teams in Italy and has been a constant presence in the pro peloton ever since. The Scorpion logo appears on more WorldTour podiums than almost any other apparel mark.
