Colnago Concept Disc Art Decor Road Frameset
Colnago have a reputation for manufacturing top-performance, high-quality frames with a classic, understated style. The Italian brands first aero bike, the Concept Disc Art Decor Road Frameset takes its name from the original Colnago Concept project, the company's first carbon fibre frame, developed in collaboration with Enzo Ferrari in 1986.
The design and construction cut drag, but there's no compromise on comfort and this frameset is just as well suited to long rides as it is to road racing. Designed in the wind tunnel for superior aerodynamics, this bike offers supreme handling and a stiff ride thanks to the high modulus carbon frame and fork construction, with a truncated airfoil tube profile.
Traditional race geometry found in their flagship model, the C60, and a headtube that eliminates a round leading edge, both contribute further to this bikes aerodynamics. Smaller details have also be considered; with a downtube that widens towards the bottom bracket, your water bottle is hidden from the wind.
The taller headtube means an aerodynamic position can be maintained comfortably for longer rides and does away with the need for a stack of spacers, improving overall stiffness. A tapered steerer of a more traditional shape makes for a smoother ride and the included Concept headset improves vibration damping, slowing the onset of fatigue in the hands and arms when riding on rough roads.
Smoothing the airflow and shrouding the rear wheel, the seat tube has been designed for aero optimisation with 25mm width tyres and will fit tyres up to 28mm.
The ThreadFit 82.5 bottom bracket is both rigid and reliable so you get the benefits of both a threaded and a PressFit system. You can maintain the clean aesthetics of your bike thanks to internal cable routing, and versatility is increased by the option of using both mechanical and electronic groupsets.
