The DT Swiss Aero Comp Straight Pull Spokes features a highly durable double-butted bladed spoke design that proves ideal for comprehensive cycling applications, encompassing road and track disciplines through to cross-country and trail mountain biking. This 14 / 15 / 14 gauge double-butted spoke incorporates a central bladed section that delivers aerodynamic benefits, whilst maintaining 2 mm thickness at the extremities where structural integrity is paramount. Unlike competing manufacturers who stretch and consequently weaken their spokes during the butting process, DT Swiss employs a distinctive and closely patented ultrasonic peening technique that cold-forges the spoke, thereby enhancing the metal's properties and providing DT Swiss spokes with the superior strength-to-weight ratio amongst all butted spoke variants.

The spokes are manufactured exclusively from Swedish X5 stainless steel, which is custom-blended specifically for DT's requirements. The rolled nipple threading process removes no material from the spoke and preserves the metal's grain structure, maximising strength and significantly reducing the potential for failure at the threads, a frequent concern with inferior quality spokes. The spokes receive a black finish through an electro-chemical treatment that proves durable whilst not compromising the spoke's structural integrity.
