Loving these overshoes. They provide a nice shield from the wind and elements during the autumn months and I’m sure will do a great job in spring as well. They’re not waterproof but have kept my feet warm in temps down to 2-3 degrees and the colour matches my kit, so can’t go wrong.

Putting socks over shoes comes from the Netherlands, in particular Belgium.The idea being to get some grip when trying to run (with your bike) up the short nasty little hills they have over there called Bergs. See the early season classic races.The other advantage that was found, is that they keep the chill off your feet in the early and late seasons. So these are ideal for those chilly days when you don't want to overheat from wearing heavier overshoes. They will also keep your shoes clean so can be used when the roads are drying, but they are not waterproof so if you go snorkalling you will still get wet feet. I purchased the dayglo yellow ones as I also wanted to get greater visibility. Comments I have had is they are bright! With my wife spotting me sat outside the cafe from the other end of the highstreet.
