ENVE SES 4.5 AR Clincher Disc Alloy Hub Wheelset

Wider than the rest of their road wheel range, ENVE’s SES 4.5 AR Clincher Disc Alloy Hub Wheelset has been designed to cope with a wide variety of surfaces, from smooth roads to cobblestones and even gravel. With an external rim width of over 30mm these wheels are intended to be used with tyres with a minimum width of 28mm, which, using the hookless bead technology, form an aerodynamically advantageous interface with the rim and reduce drag.

ENVE has designed the rims specifically for use with disc brakes, and as such, they have been able to reduce their weight quite impressively as the heat management materials are no longer necessary. Furthermore, the front and rear rims are both different widths and different depths as a result of wind tunnel testing the wheels, bike and rider as a whole, with the wider, shallower front wheel making some concessions to stability whilst the rear wheel is narrower and deeper in search of maximum speed.

These wheels have been designed to be used with a minimum of 28mm tyres rated for tubeless use, even if using inner tubes. Please see below for a list of recommended and incompatible tyres.
