1) Measure around the chest at the fullest part just under the arms.
2) Measure around the waist over the belly button.
The tights work well in the winter - warm enough when the temperature is around 3-6C, but not too warm when it gets over 10C. Good reflective patches and the ankle zips are handy. They seem well made so far. I'm a size 12 and the medium fits fine around the waste, but they are quite long. I'm 5ft 8ins with 32 inch legs and they are almost too long for me. They could be a problem for someone with shorter legs.
The fit is great (although they are very long - down over my ankles.. I am 1m67) and they are lovely and warm. Kept my legs warm when cycling around the 4-8 degrees temperature.
