The Lake CX145 Wide Fit Winter Road Shoes provide a fully windproof and waterproof option for these base miles, with a waterproof membrane protected by a waxed canvas and leather upper providing an effective shield against the cold and damp.

An important element of not getting cold feet is not to cut off the circulation, cramming ever thicker socks on in an effort to keep warm is counterproductive, it’s better to give toes plenty of wriggle room and keep the circulation flowing. To this end, the dual Boa closure system gives a great range of adjustability and is simple to fine tune on the fly to keep exactly the right snugness to ensure easy pedalling and comfy feet.

This wide version of the popular CX145 Road Shoe provides extra width. The above-ankle cut of these boots and the neoprene cuff means less chance of water getting into the shoes and gives greater protection to the ankles (where blood vessels are close to the surface) from the wind. Coupled with the Boa system the last features a high arch, mid-width ball girth and precise toe box give good foot control helping eliminate numbness.
