These Lake wide-fit shoes were recommended by several social media influencers and having suffered shoes that seemed to be designed for people with long and narrow feet like storks, I finally took the plunge and splashed out for these. They are a bit like ski boots, but I don’t care because they are roomy and I can wiggle my toes inside to keep the blood circulation. Recently, on a cold and wet (+2 Celsius) ride, my feet remained warm and dry. Paired with Gore winter gloves I actually enjoyed, well maybe not “enjoyed”, but maybe tolerated that cold morning ride. I normally buy 44cm cycling shoes but opted for these in size 45cm to allow for thick socks. Glad I did and I recommend these to anybody who is not a stork like ectomorph.

Take your foot measurement in a standing position while wearing your cycling socks.
Step 1: Trace your foot onto a sheet of paper. After you trace your foot take a ruler and make a line to mark the furthest point on all four sides as shown below.
Step 2: Length measurement (Points 1 to 2 as shown below). Use a millimeter ruler to get the measurement of the longest distance from heel to longest toe (first or second toe).
Step 3: Width measurement (Points 3 to 4 as shown below). Use a millimeter ruler to get the measurement of the widest distance of foot from side to side.
Step 4: Repeat steps for other foot as your feet may be different sizes. Typically you will want shoes that accommodate your largest foot the most comfortably.
*Add +5mm to your measured length to get correct shoe length.
Reviews
Been looking for a pair of winter boots for commuting for ages and failing to get my wide feet into many pairs. Boots are warm and fit snug. Be aware that I usually buy size 10 shoes but couldn't get my feet into these in that size, however the EU46 fit me perfectly, both width and length.
