Offering elite level performance in a winter boot form, the Northwave Extreme Winter GTX MTB Boots is for those riders who see bad conditions as an opportunity and not a barrier.

These boots' top-level performance stems from the thick Gore-Tex® Sierra membrane that makes up the majority of the upper construction. Totally waterproof and breathable, this membrane offers deep winter insulation capable of keeping your feet nice and warm right down to -25˚C. The highly resilient material is resistant to abrasion, making it ideal for the wild and wooly conditions of winter.

This extreme level of protection is enhanced by Northwave's Double Shield Construction (DSC). This revolutionary system overlaps two anatomically integrated uppers. The top level block out the elements while the inner layer acts to create a breathable microclimate so you have all of the benefits of a shoe cover without the added weight.

The closure system has also been engineered to optimise ease of use and security in the cold when you're likely to be wearing thick gloves. The micrometric SLW2 (Speed Lace Winch) allows you to make precise adjustments to the fit of the shoe and the side button makes undoing the system simple. The anatomical shape and positioning of the SLW alleviates the threat of pressure point build up and the durable cables ensure longevity.

With winter comes icy and wet conditions underfoot, so you want a sole that is going to ensure maximum grip so you don't end up taking an untimely tumble. Northwave's Speedlight 3D Sole features a nylon chassis filled with fibreglass and co-injected to a polished outer TPU shell. The addition of durable rubber studs provides excellent grip without the added weight. The boots have a two bolt cleat fixing, compatible with Shimano SPD cleats (sold separately).
