The unique shape and size of the PP-1.2 is perfect for compressing the hydraulic piston by pushing the brake pads apart to speed service and pad replacement
Updated shape to better fit 2011 and later Shimano XTR callipers

Is this a suitable tool for use on SRAM Force disk brakes on a road bike?

1. Hi there, Yes, it's suitable for SRAM Force road calipers. It fits most hydraulic disc calipers; Park Tool only warn against ceramic pistons, which is a Shimano road feature, and SRAM Force uses phenolic pistons. Press against the old pads rather than the piston faces and you'll be fine. Many thanks Joe W

Which piston spreading tool do you recommend for Shimano Road discs? Park Tool advise not using the PP-1.2 on Shimano Road discs. Thank you Martin

1. Hi there, This can be used with Shimano systems if the pads are still in the system, They cannot be used again the pistons though. Many thanks Joe W
