Designed specifically for riders who want greater control, speed and traction on loose terrain, the Roval Traverse SL Fattie 29 Boost 148 Wheelset offers all the features you need to take your off-road riding to the next level. The carbon rim construction is not just tubeless-ready, which ensures your puncture protection is at an all time high, but keeps the overall weight low to an impressive 1577g - which attributes to this wheelsets responsive handling.
Boost 148 is an increase on traditional 142mm hub spacing, allowing for wider hub flanges that increase the wheels bracing angle - otherwise known as the single most effective way to increase a larger wheels stiffness. In fact, it’s proven to improve stiffness to a minimum of 15% over other standard 29er wheelsets. Translated into everyday terms, Boost 148mm gives all the stiffness and versatility of a 27.5” wheel, but the rolling ability of a 29er.
These DT Swiss 148mm hubs with thru-axles are the ideal choice for a wheelset of this nature, offering quick engagement thanks to the 54t ratchet system in the rear, whilst the alloy body in the front keeps everything rigid for efficient cornering.
A mixture of radial/three-cross spokes in the front and three-cross in the rear furthers versatility, giving a lower weight in the front for greater ease of handling, whilst offering the durability and rigidity you need to rip it round corners.
Please note: This wheelset uses Boost hubs, and can't be used with narrower frame dimensions or thru-axles.
