The SKS Bluemels Style 28 Mudguard Set embeds aluminium strips in a plastic coating, making the guards rigid, robust and highly resistant to corrosion. Flexible spoilers front and rear extend the protection offered from road spray, and the latest safety system - a V-adapter with ESC - means that if branches become caught in the spokes, the U-stays are uncoupled to prevent the wheel from jamming, avoiding a potential crash. These are a very solid set of mudguards but take some time to attach. If your fork attachment is underneath the forks you will need to drill off the rivetted on hanger on the mudguards. And I needed to cut the struts down to size to fit my bike (Ribble CGR). For someone not particularly handy with tools this took me quite a while and if I had my time again I'd pay someone else to do it. But the end result is a very very solid, and good looking, set of guards
These mud guards have the best attachment system I have used in over 50 years of cycling. They required shortening of the stays only on the rear , which was a 30 minute job. The attachment is very secure and there has been no tyre rub in 200miles of riding on badly maintained Devon lanes. 5he degree of protection is excellent. The bike hardly needs cleaning after a wet muddy ride and both my feet stay dry. Highly recommended.
