I don't own a car but would like to have the option to transport a bike when I rent a vehicle. Would this rack be appropriate for that? Does it leave any marks/would it damage the paint in any way? Is this a stupid idea?

Hi, How do i use this with a 12mm thru axel bike? do i just need a set of Huske adapter plugs as per the Seasucker website, or does the fork mount only fit 9mm?
