The 105 tier is towards the top of Shimano's ranges, so this caliper is packed with quality. The cable operation means that you can upgrade to discs without needing to switch your existing road levers, which is a huge saving.
As always with Shimano, design has been well thought through. The ability to adjust your left and right pads clearance independently of one another is a perfect example of this. Design has also kept weight down but rigidity up with the one piece alloy body. Long arms give perfectly responsive performance.
Even the setting up of these has been made effortless with the shim-less mounting system. Additionally, the set up can be altered from post-type to International Standard (IS) mounts giving this compatibility with a wide range of frames and rotor sizes. Compatibility is further extended by this being usable with six-bolt or centre-lock rotors.
