Bought a month ago to replace a crash damaged older version. The Shadow design looks a bit strange to begin with, but was easy to fit and setup resulting in the typically excellent shifting performance from Shimano we come to know and love.

Q & A

2 questions answered

  1. Would you recommend a ss cage or a medium cage if you were running 11-30 rear and 50-34 front? According to the Shimano specs, that is the max this can handle. Is it wise to be "on the limit"? Im not planning on going to bigger cogs or chainrings. Thanks.

    Asked by CyclingSam (Devon)

    1. Hello, I can confirm that an SS derailleur would be best for this setup, as a GS derailleur would not shift as smoothly. Many Thanks Liam

  2. will this work with a 10 speed setup?

    Asked by Adey

    1. Hello, I am afraid that this would not work in a 10 speed drivetrain. Many Thanks Liam

About Shimano

Shifting the way the world rides.

From a single Osaka workshop in 1921, Shimano has grown into the world's most influential component maker. The brand's relentless engineering — Dura-Ace, Ultegra, GRX, XTR — has shaped the way the world shifts, brakes and rides, on the road and off it.

Shimano's flagship groupset, Dura-Ace, has been the benchmark for top-level road components for more than five decades. Every refinement that lands on Dura-Ace eventually shapes the entire Shimano range, all the way down to entry-level drivetrains.
