The The Specialized Tarmac SL8 is the fastest road bike in the world, combining aerodynamics, lightweight construction, and exceptional ride quality. After more than two decades of development and eight generations, it surpasses all previous Tarmac models and is further enhanced by the Roval Rapide CLX III wheels, delivering paradigm-shifting aerodynamic performance.
Specialized Aerodynamics and Speed
Speed is achieved through an uncompromising combination of aerodynamics, lightweight, stiffness, and compliance. Race simulations using real-world data show the SL8 is 16.6 seconds faster over 40km, 128 seconds faster on Milan-San Remo, and 20 seconds faster on the Tourmalet climb compared with previous models. Every aerodynamic detail is optimised for performance, including the Speed Sniffer nose cone, repositioned steer tube, and the narrowest, most aerodynamic seat post ever created by Specialized, ensuring efficient airflow around the legs.
S-Works Lightweight Performance
Lessons from the Aethos were applied to create a frame weighing just 685 grams, 15% lighter than the Tarmac SL7 and lighter than any other World Tour bike. The frame’s shape carries loads efficiently, eliminating the need for extra carbon layers while maximising stiffness and responsiveness.
Specialized S-Works Ride Quality
The SL8 offers a 33% improvement in stiffness-to-weight over the SL7, delivering precise handling, aggressive responsiveness, and compliant comfort. Rider-First Engineering ensures consistent ride quality across all sizes. The saddle delivers 6% more compliance, floating over rough roads with a supple feel. Proven geometry and 32mm tyre clearance provide versatility and the ability to run higher-volume tyres when required.
Specialized designs the Tarmac SL8 for all riders, moving beyond arbitrary gender distinctions to focus on individual fit and performance. Every rider benefits from the advanced geometry and engineering of the SL8.
The S-Works Tarmac SL8 is equipped with a full Shimano Dura-Ace 9200 series Di2 groupset with dual-sided power meter and a Roval Rapide CLX III tubeless-ready wheelset. A Roval Rapide cockpit is included to save weight and optimise the leading edge. ‘Apple Find My’ technology is integrated in all S-Works and Pro 4iiii power meters, giving riders peace of mind by tracking the exact location of their bikes.

Built, Checked, Tuned and Tested
All our bikes are fully built, checked, tuned and tested by our Cytech qualified mechanics and then securely packaged, ready for delivery. All you have to do is add the pedals (if included), attach the handlebars to the stem and tighten them following the included detailed instructions or by watching our video and using the provided FREE tools. All bikes collected from our shop, are built, tested and ready to ride. For hassle-free home delivery and bike set-up from a qualified mechanic use our Premier Delivery Service.
Please note, occasionally, manufacturers may change the specification without notice. Bicycles do not come with pedals unless otherwise specified. Bikes ordered for delivery will not arrive with the pedals installed, please refer to the owners manual and pedal installation guides provided for guidance. We do not install accessories to bikes, including mudguards. Bikes ordered for delivery that have tubeless compatible tyres and rims will arrive with inner tubes installed or with tubeless valves installed, this will be brand dependent. Sealant is available to be purchased separately.
