The absoluteBLACK Ceramic HOLLOWcage Pulley Cage introduces a revolutionary design, bring incredibly quiet, smooth shifting performance and enhanced aerodynamics. Designed for Shimano Dura-Ace 9100 and Ultegra 8000 setups, this system can reduce drivetrain noise by around 60%. This is thanks to the use of xring rubber suspended bands, damping chain impact on guide pulley teeth, often the area responsible for a noisy drivetrain, resulting in almost silent running.
The cage itself is more flexible than is traditional, allowing this and the lower pulley to align better with the chain in higher gears. This flexibility in the mono plate cage creates less friction and reduced lost watts. Additionally, the stiffness of the upper pulley has been increased, by way of larger, full ceramic bearings, and together with the use of tall teeth on the upper pulley, significantly improves shifting precision.
