Black Sheep Cycling LIMITED WOW!

A Pop Art Inspired Collection

Black Sheep Cycling; born in Brisbane, Australia - a relatively new brand that like to do things a little differently. The individual and unique style is married with top performance technology, and expresses the team's passion for cycling and the associated community that creates. Their latest limited edition collection pays homage to the height of the Pop Art movement of the mid 1960's, and is as bold and brash as they come, in full celebration of this fun, colourful and revolutionary era.

Lichtenstein Masterpiece

Coming about in the mid-50's in the UK, and towards the end of that decade in America, Pop Art started as a rebellion against the dominant fine art traditions and the expectation of what art should be. Encompassing advertising, comic books, movies, and other every day and mass culture sources into their art - irony and parody were key.

The latest release of Black Sheep Cycling’s flagship range, the LIMITED WOW! collection really pushes the boundaries in terms of style. The entire collection packs in the technology Black Sheep are renowned for, so you can look and feel your best when you jump on the bike.

Full Kit: Bib Short & Jersey Combination

Designed in Australia and constructed from lightweight and breathable Italian fabrics. The hottest summer days won’t present an issue, thanks to moisture-wicking material that keeps you dry during the toughest efforts.

The jersey is super soft and comfortable with a close race cut and four way stretch for full and unrestricted movement. Moonlight and OpenCell mesh fabrics are responsible for helping you maintain your body temperature.

A high-quality seat pad will ensure a comfortable and enjoyable ride. Black Sheep Cycling’s chamois, anatomically designed for men’s and women's shorts, is high density and includes perforation channels to keep the air flowing more freely. CorePOWER Lycra efficiently supports your leg muscles, for improved performance, and a laser cut cuff enhances aesthetics and keeps the shorts securely in place.

A piece of kit essential to every cyclist, the Black Sheep Cycling Pop Art Gilet is windproof and breathable. Those fast, chilly descents and early mornings will be made more comfortable thanks to the windproof front panel, and open mesh on the back and sides helps to regulate your temperature.

Conditions can be changeable, no matter the time of year, and Black Sheep have addressed this with a waterproof central back panel in case you get caught out in an unexpected downpour.

Cycling Cap: Don’t stop at your jersey, bibs and vest; complete your Masterpiece, Maybe Baby or Gone Dotty look with a cap to match. It’s got a classic four-panel profile and provides protection from the rain and sunshine.

Quote Socks: With the Quote socks, you’ll easily be able to find a colour to best finish off your outfit. Black Sheep Cycling’s logo has been reimagined in comic book form, and is worn with 'black' on the left and 'sheep' on the right. Bold and stylish, their construction is ultra comfortable and supportive.

Inspired by one of the most influential and innovative artists of the Pop Art movement, the Masterpiece kit is bold and brash. Roy Lichtenstein's Masterpiece painting of 1962 has a cartoon-like feel typical of his style and is regarded as a tongue-in-cheek prediction of his own fame. 55 years later, this piece sold for a whopping $165 million.

The painting's colours and graphics are clearly echoed in both the men's and women's jersey and bib short combinations. Time will tell if this limited edition kit will follow in the footsteps of Lichtenstein's Masterpiece, becoming world famous and ultimately, priceless. Clamour to get your hands on this kit before it's all snapped up.

Maybe Baby jersey and shorts

Maybe Baby

The clashing colours synonymous with the Pop Art movement make for a head-turning blend in the Maybe Baby design. Bold orange, red and green are combined with black panels and dots to create this work of art. As with the entire collection, the Maybe Baby Full Kit and Vest are made for riders who want to make a statement and stand out on their rides.

Gone Dotty

Last but not least, the Pop Art range wouldn’t be complete without the inclusion of Ben-Day dots and Comic Book slogans. The former a hallmark of artist Roy Lichtenstein, this printing process was used in comics of the 50’s and 60’s as an inexpensive way to use just four colours to create shading and secondary hues. Always of even distribution, almost every panel of the women’s kit features this bold design. 'Black Sheep' has been depicted in an impactful comic book style on the front and back of both the jersey and vest.
